Tees announces strong results in 2027 Legal 500 rankings

Tees is pleased to announce another strong set of results in this year’s Legal 500 directory, with 53 total rankings across the firm, including 24 firm rankings and 29 individual rankings.

The results reflect the strength and expertise of teams across Tees, with 23 of our firm rankings remaining at the same tier as last year. We are also delighted to have secured a new ranking in East Anglia: Real Estate: Planning and Environment, achieving Tier 3 following our first submission in this category following the recruitment of a specialist team.

The Top Tier ranking for 2026 has been awarded to:

  • Private Client > Agriculture and estates
  • Real Estate > Commercial property, Essex
  • Insurance > Personal injury and clinical negligence
  • Private Client > Personal tax, trusts and probate, Beds, Bucks, Herts, Middx
  • Dispute resolution > Commercial litigation, Beds, Bucks, Herts, Middx
  • Dispute resolution > Commercial litigation, Essex
  • Private Client > Family, Essex

The results demonstrate the consistency of our teams across a wide range of practice areas, as well as the growing recognition of our expertise in new areas of work.

Individual recognition

Our 29 individual rankings recognise the expertise and contribution of people across the firm.

Senior Partner Catherine Mowat has once again been recognised in the prestigious Hall of Fame, reflecting her longstanding recognition from clients and peers.

We are also delighted to congratulate Sarah Walker and Letty Glaister, who have both been recognised as Leading Partners for the first time.

Alex Waples and Chris Claxton-Shirley have progressed from Leading Associate rankings to Next Generation Partner recognition this year. In addition, Hannah Byatt who joined Tees in 2025, was also recognised having been partner at her previous firm.

We also congratulate Georgia Dinallo and Victoria Sweeting, who have both been recognised as Leading Associates for the first time.

Several of our people have also been recognised across multiple submissions and practice areas, including Tracey Dickens, Alex Waples, Sara Stabler and Katherine Jameson.

We would like to congratulate everyone who has retained an individual ranking this year, as well as everyone whose work and contribution has supported these results.

Client feedback

One of the most valuable parts of the Legal 500 research process is the feedback provided by clients and referrers.

The testimonials submitted to the researchers highlight the quality of the work carried out by our teams, the relationships we build with our clients and the positive impact our advice has on individuals, families and businesses.

These results are a reflection of the trust our clients place in us and the commitment of our people to providing clear, practical and high-quality legal advice.

The full rankings and client testimonials are available on the Legal 500 website.

Ashton Hunt, CEO at Tees, said:

“These results are a great reflection of the quality of work our teams deliver and the relationships they build with clients. The Legal 500 rankings recognise not only the expertise of our people, but the trust our clients place in us to support them through important moments for their families and businesses.

“Seeing so many colleagues recognised across our teams, alongside the continued strength of our practice rankings, is something we should be proud of. It reflects the commitment, collaboration and care that our people bring to their work every day, and the positive difference they make for our clients.”
