Tees Law does not provide legal aid and cannot act on a legal aid–funded basis, but we can discuss alternative funding options and our fees with you.
The Tees Family Law Team regularly undertakes pro bono work in partnership with the Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) Law Clinic, delivering free, independent and confidential family law advice to the public in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough, and via a remote service, for individuals who are not eligible for legal aid.
Legal aid is government funding to help cover legal costs for people who meet certain financial and eligibility criteria (e.g. those on low income, receiving certain income related benefits, having limited savings or property and have a good chance of winning their case).
Organisations can only provide legal aid services if the have a contract with the Legal Aid Agency.
