After 14 successful years at its Montrose Road site, Woodland Group, one of the UK’s fastest-growing independent logistics companies decided to relocate its head office to newly refurbished premises in Chelmsford town centre and enlisted Tees to help with the legalities.

Woodland’s new headquarters now sits in the heart of Chelmsford, within walking distance of the main train station and local amenities, creating a vibrant, connected base for its UK operations. The move supports Woodland’s long-term expansion strategy and provides a central base that reflects the company’s modern, sustainable outlook.

Our Commercial Property team in Chelmsford; led by Partner, Daniel Fairs, and Associate, Andrew Harrison, worked closely with Woodland’s senior leadership team and also James Dewar of Robert Dewar Associates (acting as agent) to provide practical and time-sensitive advice to support the transition.

Investing in growth and the community

Kevin Stevens, CEO of Woodland Group, said:

This relocation solidifies our position as a cornerstone of the Chelmsford and Essex business community. It goes hand in hand with our dedication to supporting local initiatives such as Essex Cricket, Chelmsford Rugby Club, and Panathlon, and positions us strategically to support local, national, and international initiatives and our network. As we embark on this exciting journey, we look forward to continuing our legacy of innovation, service, and community engagement.”

Daniel Fairs commented:

It is always a pleasure working with Woodland Group. Our mutual understanding, built over many years of partnership, enables us to handle transactions quickly, collaboratively and efficiently. Everyone at Tees looks forward to continuing to support Woodland Group, as they grow their already very successful business in the logistics and supply chain sector.”
