Tees lawyers recognised on 2026 Pro Bono Recognition List

We are proud to announce that the 2026 Pro Bono Recognition List of England & Wales has recognised eight Tees lawyers. Congratulations to Katheryn Andrews, Machela Boampong, Sarah Coates, Amber Gregory, Victoria Kerr, Natalie Pibworth, Megan Reckless and Georgina Wade.

The Pro Bono Recognition List recognises legal professionals who dedicate 25 hours or more over the year to providing free legal assistance to individuals and charities. The initiative is now in its third year. The Law Society, the Bar Council, CILEX and leading pro bono organisations support the it, alongside the guidance of The Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee. Inclusion on the list reflects a strong and ongoing commitment across the legal profession. It shows their efforts to improve access to justice.

At Tees, we believe that access to legal advice should be available to everyone. Our recognised lawyers have volunteered their time and expertise. They support those who may not otherwise be able to obtain legal help. Significantly, their work reflects the values that underpin our firm. It also highlights the positive role we can play in the communities we serve.

Pro bono work remains an important part of the legal system. It works alongside publicly funded services and advice organisations. The judiciary regularly sees direct impact of pro bono advice and representation. It helps individuals facing complex legal challenges without support.

The Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales commented: “I am pleased to thank every lawyer who appears on the 2026 Pro Bono Recognition List of England & Wales, of which I am Patron. The lawyers recognised on the List follow the long tradition of the legal profession in volunteering their time to provide free legal assistance to individuals and charities.

Pro bono is not a substitute for legal aid, but it is a valuable part of our system of justice, working alongside the advice sector. The judiciary sees first-hand how pro bono advice and representation helps those who might not otherwise receive legal assistance. I hope that recognition on the List encourages the legal profession to continue its commitment to providing pro bono help to those in need.”

We congratulate our colleagues on this well-deserved recognition and thank them for their continued dedication to making a difference.
