Kaya Gillard

Solicitor

Medical Negligence

Biography

I am a solicitor in the Medical Negligence team in Chelmsford. I joined Tees in November 2021 and completed my training to qualify as a solicitor in March 2024. I worked with the Residential Conveyancing Team and the Employment Team before qualifying into the Medical Negligence Department after training with the team for over 12 months. Since then, I have continued to work with the Medical Negligence Team, assisting highly experienced practitioners with complex cases across a wide range of specialisms, alongside running my own caseload.

Medical Negligence cases can be emotional and overwhelming for clients, which is why I am committed to ensuring that your concerns are listened to, you are kept updated at every point of your claim, and every aspect of your claim is explained in a way that makes sense to you.

I understand that many clients want to understand what has happened to them and why, and they often hope to prevent the same from happening again to somebody else. I take an empathetic approach in my work, not only securing financial compensation but also helping clients to understand what has happened to them and what has been done to prevent the same from happening again.

Client quote

“Having not been through this process before it was extremely daunting to reach out; however from first contact to settlement I was well supported. Everything was explained in detail and followed up in writing so I had time to read and understand what was happening.

Opening up and reliving the events has been mentally challenging, Chantae was incredible in listening to the concerns I raised about my care and taking on the case. Even going on maternity leave and returning during the case didn’t disrupt or delay anything. Kaya seamlessly continued with contact and updates while working on the case and any e-mails or calls of a sensitive nature were approached with kindness and patience from all.

Thank you both I appreciate the compassion you both showed and the result was down to your knowledge and determination in obtaining a fair settlement.”
