Victoria Wood

Senior Associate

Private Client

Biography

I am a Senior Associate solicitor and part of the private client team at our North Herts office, having joined in April 2026. I can assist with the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, the administration of estates, the setting up and administration of trusts, and estate planning. I also have experience in dealing with mental incapacity issues.

Clients are at the centre of my work, why I chose and continue to enjoy practising in this area of the law. Through my work, I can help clients plan for the future and put the necessary protections in place. I advise high net worth clients, and clients living with conditions that impact their capacity, and I take pride in customising my approach to client needs, while aiming to deliver a warm and accessible service.

I have mostly dealt with Victoria Wood and she has been amazing. She handled both my Father's probate and my new will. I found her to be knowledgeable, thorough, and hard-working. She stayed in touch with me throughout both processes, giving me frequent updates as to progress, and letting me know what I had to do on my end. Victoria gave me very good advice, which made the whole probate process a lot easier for me than it would have been otherwise.

Further information

I grew up locally and studied Latin and Greek at St Anne’s College Oxford, and Japanese at a university in Fukuoka, Japan. I qualified as a solicitor in 2005 and became a full member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in 2009, having been ‘Student of the Year’ in 2007, coming first in England and Wales in the Administration of Estates examination.

I practised at a firm in Bath and acted as a committee member of the Bristol branch of STEP, before taking a career break during which I lived among a farming family in rural Wales and learned Welsh fluently. On returning to Hertfordshire and the law in 2019, I worked at a well-established local firm. I took a distinction in the STEP advanced certificate in dealing with older and vulnerable clients. I am a recommended Legal 500 lawyer and a proud trustee of Future Living Hertford, a charity which aims to support those recovering after experiencing domestic abuse.
