Workplace stress: A legal and ethical imperative for employers
April marks Stress Awareness Month, a timely reminder for employers to address workplace stress, not just as a productivity concern
I am an Associate in the Employment Department, based in the Tees Bishop’s Stortford office.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and, throughout this time, have worked in the demanding legal landscapes of London and Essex. With over fifteen years of service in the employment law field, I have established myself as an ally to employers of all scales, compassionately guiding them through strategic and everyday HR and employment law issues.
My professional focus is twofold, offering support both to individuals and corporate entities. This encompasses a variety of employment law facets, including complex disciplinary and grievance procedures, settlement agreements, issues stemming from redundancies, reorganisations, and TUPE transfers, as well as litigation involving unfair dismissal, contract breaches, and discrimination on grounds of sex, race, disability, and maternity. In 2014 I became an Associate Member of the CIPD, complimenting my legal knowledge with HR nous. Consequently, my clients benefit from my holistic experience and approach.
My aim is to help my clients make informed decisions about their individual situations by providing them with options in easy-to-understand terms. Clients have praised me on my approachability, responsiveness, and dedication to delivering advice that is straightforward, commercial, and pragmatic.
Their approach is both collaborative and practical.

Outside of work, with two children and four dogs, I have little time to focus on much else. Most of my weekends are spent conducting my real job as a taxi driver for my children. I enjoy keeping fit with Pilates and running as well as being active in my community as a school governor of a local primary school.
