Tees Better Future Fund awards grant to Flutter to support kidney cancer patients

Flutter kidney cancer charity at Royal Marsden hospital

Tees is proud to announce a new grant through the Tees Better Future Fund to Flutter, a newly registered charity that supports individuals diagnosed with kidney cancer.

The £3,000 grant will help fund the creation and distribution of care bags and comfort cushions for patients undergoing surgery or treatment.

Each care pack includes essential toiletries, soothing items like peppermint tea and bed socks, and printed support information endorsed by Kidney Cancer UK and Action Kidney Cancer, offering comfort and vital resources at a time of fear and uncertainty.

Janine Collier, Co-Head of ESG at Tees, said:

“Flutter represents the best of grassroots action, meeting a real, urgent need for kidney cancer patients in our local hospitals. This project aligns closely with our mission to reduce inequality and improve wellbeing across our communities.”

The project will benefit approximately 400 patients across Addenbrooke’s Hospital and other major centres. It also provides a meaningful outlet for volunteers, many living in rural or isolated areas who contribute by sewing cushions and packing supplies, improving their own wellbeing in the process.

Tees employees will have opportunities to volunteer on “pack and chat” days or support Flutter’s hospital delivery initiatives and awareness campaigns.
