James Daynes

Lawyer

James Daynes, professional support lawyer at Tees Law, expert in wills, tax, and estate planning.

Biography

I am a Professional Support Lawyer in the Wills, Trusts, Tax and Probate Department. I provide specialist technical support to the department on relevant client matters.

Delivering what you really need

I qualified as a solicitor in 2004, moving into Private Client law in 2007 and joining Tees Law in April 2020 after previously working as an in house lawyer in the Life & Pensions department of a multinational insurance company. I specialise in wills, estate and capital tax planning and probate, both onshore and offshore, and charity administration. I have experience of advising a wide range of clients, including high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, charities, families, farming clients and non-UK resident or non-UK domiciled/deemed-domiciled clients.  I am a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and also hold the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients.

Expertise

I've never found an area where Tees have been unable to help. There is considerable strength across the organisation. Individuals have good contacts outside of their practice area. I have always found Tees accessible and helpful.
