Tees was delighted to attend and sponsor Cereals this month, the UK’s leading arable farming event, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to the agricultural sector and rural communities.
A regular presence at the event, the Tees team enjoys the opportunity Cereals provides to connect with farmers, landowners, rural businesses and professional advisers, discussing the challenges and opportunities shaping UK agriculture.
With agricultural roots stretching back generations, Tees is home to one of the country’s most established Agriculture, Rural and Estates department. With a specialist team, comprising more than 30 legal and financial advisers, we support farming families, landed estates, rural businesses and agricultural entrepreneurs on everything from succession planning and diversification to land transactions and disputes.
Despite the rain and thunder, this year’s event held from Wednesday 10 – Thursday 11 June at Diddly Squat Farm in Chipping Norton saw strong attendance and valuable conversations around natural capital, regulation, sustainable farming and long-term business resilience.
Tees was also proud to sponsor the BASE-UK stand and stage, supporting its work to champion sustainable farming, innovation and knowledge sharing across the sector.
Tees Partner, Alex Waples – Commercial and Agriculture Property – joined the BASE-UK stage on both days for a session on Collaboration. As farming faces increasing economic and structural pressures, collaboration is emerging as a powerful way forward. The session discussed new models for sharing resources, skills and infrastructure; from farming partnerships and shared farming agreements to collaborative diversification projects and how changing farm structures can unlock greater efficiency, resilience, and opportunity.
On Thursday, Tees Legal Director Tom Moulsdale joined the Bidwells panel on the Cereals main stage to discuss ‘Unlocking Renewable Value: How landowners can identify opportunities and structure the best deals.’
Partner Letty Glaister Head of the Agriculture, Rural and Estates team, said:
“It was a pleasure to support BASE-UK and connect with so many people from across the farming community. Cereals is a valuable forum for sharing ideas, discussing emerging issues and helping businesses prepare for the future. Despite the weather, it was another brilliant event and great to see it hosted at the new location of Diddly Squat Farm this year.
The event offers a fantastic opportunity to meet farmers, landowners, rural businesses and industry professionals from across the UK. We’re already looking forward to next year”.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stand, joined discussions and took the time to speak with our advisers.
As the agricultural sector continues to navigate economic, environmental and regulatory change, Tees remains committed to providing practical, forward-thinking advice to help farming businesses, landowners and rural families plan with confidence for the future.
