Birth Injury to Mother

Put your medical negligence claims in the safest hands.

Supportive and practical legal advice for mothers injured during birth

We’re here to listen and support you

Birth injuries can be physically and emotionally traumatic. They can affect your health, relationships, confidence and career. Many women live with these injuries without ever receiving an explanation or support. Our experienced solicitors are here to listen — with understanding and practical legal advice from the start.

Help with securing treatment and answers

A legal claim can help you uncover what went wrong and why. It may lead to an apology, an admission of responsibility, and vital financial support. Compensation can cover treatment costs, care, counselling, and any changes needed at home to help with recovery.

You’re not alone — we’ll guide you throughout

Some claims take time, but you won’t go through it alone. We have a strong track record in medical negligence cases, including complex claims, and we’ll be by your side from first conversation to resolution. We also push for improvements in medical practice, helping to protect others from avoidable harm.

Our expertise

We can support compensation claims for a wide range of childbirth-related injuries, including:

  • Not fully explaining delivery options or associated risks
  • Failure to identify risks during antenatal care
  • Mismanagement of placental abruption or uterine rupture
  • Use of excessive force or improper use of forceps
  • Poor repair of tears or surgical wounds post-birth
  • Negligent stitching after episiotomy or caesarean
  • Post-partum haemorrhage or unmanaged infection
  • Maternal pressure sores or ulcers
  • Missed signs of complications during or after labour

We could not fault the service provided by the whole team at Tees. Responsive, supportive and extremely professional throughout. The success in the case and the justice achieved was what we wanted.

How a compensation claim can help

If you or someone you love has suffered a birth injury you know how life-changing the injury can be. Nothing can change what happened to you– but a claim can help you find out what happened, why and ensure that you get the right care and treatment going forward.

Compensation for injured mothers

Birth injuries can affect every part of your life and can be very isolating. Your self-image, relationships and work may be affected. A compensation claim can take the pressure off financially, so that you can focus on your life and your recovery. It can also cover the cost of treatment you need, housing adaptations or care.

I have been told my property has development potential. What do I do?

If you’ve been contacted by a developer or a land promoter regarding a potential development to your property, you may wish to consider granting an option agreement or a promotion agreement. An option agreement is made between the landowner and the developer, where it is intended that the developer will apply for planning permission and requires an option to buy the property. A land promotion agreement is used where a developer agrees to apply for planning permission and will market the property for sale on the open market once planning permission has been obtained. This is usually in return for a proportion of the net sale proceeds. The law on this is very complex and you will need specialist advice.
