Addressing domestic abuse in financial remedy cases
Despite a nationwide effort to recognise the impact of domestic abuse, family courts remain reluctant to consider such abuse when
I am a solicitor in the family department at Tees, based in the Chelmsford office.
I have a wealth of experience within family law and can advise on a range of different matters, including:
I understand that family law matters can be emotional and stressful. It is vital that individuals feel supported and listened to during what are often very difficult periods of their lives. I aim to be an empathetic ear to clients whilst providing quality advice on how to find pragmatic solutions to their problems.
As a member of Resolution, I aim to help clients reach agreements without needing court proceedings. I take a constructive approach to issues, considering what is fair and reasonable for my clients.
My approach to all work is methodical and thorough, ensuring I deliver first-class service to my clients.

I would recommend Joshua Coombe, Lisa Honey and Catriona Rafferty. Joshua Coombe has considerable experience and is regarded as a formidable local solicitor.
Legal 500 UK, 2026

I studied for my undergraduate law degree at the University of Leicester, graduating in 2019 with First Class Honours. I then spent two years working as a paralegal within private client law before commencing my Legal Practice Course part-time at the University of Law. Alongside completing my Legal Practice Course, I commenced my training contract with a well-regarded firm in the Essex area.
During my training contract, I spent a year and a half working in family law, developing a wide range of experience in the practice area. I also spent 6 months working in company and employment law, which has given me the knowledge and understanding to deal with complex business assets within financial remedy matters.
I completed my Legal Practice Course in 2023, achieving a high distinction and qualified as a solicitor within family law in October 2023. I joined Tees in January 2024 and look forward to continuing to develop my knowledge and experience in the practice area.
Our team were ranked in the top tier of the Legal 500 2026 for the Essex region.
