Second marriages in the UK: A Family Law solicitor’s perspective
Second marriages are becoming increasingly common in the UK. With people living longer, divorcing later in life, and forming new
I joined Tees in May 2025, bringing with me over 23 years of experience in family law, having qualified as a solicitor in May 2005. Prior to joining Tees, I led the Family Law team at a well-regarded firm in Peterborough and was recognised in The Legal 500 as a “Next Generation Partner”.
My work encompasses all aspects of family law, including divorce, financial settlements, and arrangements for children following separation. I also advise on the preparation of pre-nuptial, post-nuptial, and cohabitation agreements—helping clients protect their assets during the course of a relationship.
As a member of Resolution, I am committed to resolving disputes in a constructive, non-confrontational manner in accordance with its Code of Practice. I understand the emotional toll that family breakdowns can take and always aim to resolve matters swiftly and sensitively. Where court proceedings are necessary, I provide robust and empathetic support throughout the process, always prioritising the well-being of my clients and their children.
In recent years, I have developed particular expertise in complex financial matters arising from separation, including cases involving both married and cohabiting partners. I recognise concerns around legal costs and will explore all available avenues to reach a resolution, including mediation and other forms of non-court dispute resolution.

The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners

My work has been described by clients and peers in The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners as “meticulous, diligent, and very generous with her time”, “firm but kind”, and having “an incredible recall of the details of a case”. I am proud to be known for my thorough and compassionate approach.
Outside of work, I enjoy supporting my two teenage sons on the football pitch and have twice completed the London Marathon.
