Tees strengthens Partnership with three senior promotions as firm continues strategic growth

Tees has announced the promotion of three lawyers to its Partnership, recognising their outstanding contribution to the firm and their growing impact with clients and colleagues.

Jason Torrance, Isobel Foenander and Chris Claxton-Shirley will all join Tees’ Partnership from 1 April 2026.

Each of the new Partners has built their career at Tees, reflecting the firm’s long-standing commitment to developing legal talent and supporting people to progress within the organisation.

Isobel Foenander began her career at Tees as a trainee solicitor in 2015 and qualified into the Medical Negligence department. She now leads the Bishop’s Stortford Medical Negligence team and has been instrumental in the department’s growth beyond its original Cambridge base. Isobel has built a strong professional network across the medico-legal community and is developing a recognised specialism in sarcoma claims.

Chris Claxton-Shirley also trained at Tees before qualifying into the Private Client department. He has developed a strong reputation as a trusted adviser to the firm’s clients and professional referrers. Chris plays a key role in the leadership of the Private Client department and the management of the Cambridge Private Client team. He also contributes nationally to the profession as a member of the Law Society’s Private Client and Estates Advisory Committee.

Jason Torrance joined Tees as a solicitor in 2020 and is part of the Dispute Resolution and Litigation department. He specialises in property and construction litigation and heads the firm’s Property, Construction and Planning team within the department. In addition, Jason advises agricultural and farming clients on disputes and is the firm’s lead for the NFU’s Legal Advice Service for Tees’ membership of the NFU’s national panel.

Senior Partner, Catherine Mowat said:

“Isobel, Chris and Jason have each made an outstanding contribution to Tees and to the clients we serve. Their promotions reflect not only their legal expertise but also their leadership, commitment to collaboration and dedication to delivering excellent outcomes for our clients.

We are ambitious about the future of the firm and committed to continuing our advancement across our key practice areas and sectors. I am delighted to see their continued development within the firm and look forward to working with them as Partners as we continue to grow and strengthen our services.”

The promotions highlight Tees’ focus on nurturing talent from within the firm and investing in the next generation of leaders across its legal teams.
