This privacy notice applies to both Tees Law and Tees Financial. Any reference to “we,” “our,” or “us” refers to both entities, and the practices outlined apply to all services provided through the live chat. 

Types of information we collect via live chat

  • Usage data: Information about your interaction with the chat, such as the time and duration of the chat.

How we use your information

The information collected via live chat is used for the following purposes:

  • To provide support: To respond to your queries efficiently and direct you to the information or services you request.
  • Quality control and training: We may record or monitor chat transcripts for internal training and quality assurance purposes.
  • To improve our services: To analyse user interactions, troubleshoot issues, and enhance our live chat functionality.

Third-party service providers

We use a third-party service provider, Freshchat by Freshworks, to host and operate the live chat facility on our website. This provider acts as our data processor and has access to the information you provide during the chat solely to perform their contractual obligations.

Freshworks does not share your live chat data with any third parties. Appropriate contractual and technical safeguards are in place to protect your information.

Data security

Your live chat data is securely isolated and protected. Freshworks complies with recognised industry standards, including UK GDPR, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher and at rest using AES-256 encryption, ensuring that your customer chat data remains secure at all times.

Data retention

Freshchat conversation transcripts are retained for 90 days by default. After this period, transcripts may be automatically removed in line with Freshworks’ standard data-retention policy.

We will not keep personal information collected via live chat for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law. 

Your consent and rights

By using the live chat service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined in this section.

Changes to the privacy notice

This notice is the responsibility of the Data Protection Officer.
