Our specialist medical negligence lawyers are already supporting families affected by this situation. If you or your child were operated on by Dr Stohr at Addenbrooke’s, we can help assess whether you have a valid claim for compensation.
If you or your child underwent orthopaedic surgery—whether planned or emergency—performed by Dr Kuldeep Stohr at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, you may be entitled to compensation for medical negligence. A growing number of families have come forward after serious concerns were raised about the standard of care provided.
An initial review led by an independent expert found that several operations conducted by Dr Stohr on young patients fell significantly below acceptable medical standards. In some cases, this has resulted in a long-term impact on the quality of life for the children involved.
Following this, the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust confirmed a wider review covering nearly 800 cases.
The investigation is primarily focussing on paediatric orthopaedic surgeries, with a particular emphasis on complex hip procedures and osteotomies (a surgical procedure in which a bone is cut and realigned to correct its position, commonly used to: correct bone deformities; relieve pain caused by arthritis or joint misalignment; and improve function and movement, especially in joints like the hip, knee, or jaw).
An expert-led panel is now examining hundreds of procedures performed by Dr Stohr across both adult and paediatric orthopaedic surgery. While the review continues, many patients and families are beginning to explore their legal options and seeking redress for potential harm caused.
We could not fault the service provided by the entire team at Tees. They were responsive, supportive, and extremely professional from start to finish. The successful outcome and the justice achieved were exactly what we had hoped for.
