Mr Yaser Jabbar: Legal help for families treated by Great Ormond Street’s Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon

Our specialist medical negligence lawyers are already supporting families affected by this situation. If you or your child were operated on by Mr Jabbar, whom mostly worked at Great Ormond Street (GOSH), St John and St Elizabeth Hospital, the Cromwell Hospital or the Portland Hospital, we can help assess whether you have a valid claim for compensation.

Was your child treated by Mr Yaser Jabbar?

If you or our child received treatment from Mr Jabbar at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) or any other hospital, you may be entitled to compensation for medical negligence.  A growing number of families have come forward after serious concerns were raised about the standard of care provided.

In 2022, GOSH asked the Royal College of Surgeons to review their paediatric orthopaedic service after concerns were raised by patient families and staff.  The investigation by the Royal College of Surgeons revealed that Mr Jabbar performed unnecessary and inappropriate surgeries on children, leading to severe harm in multiple cases.  As a result, GOSH initiated a comprehensive review of 721 paediatric cases under his care.

Following the announcement from GOSH, further hospitals where Mr Jabbar has provided treatment, including the NHS Chelsea Westminster Hospital, and the Portland, St John and St Elizabeth and Cromwell private hospitals have also announced review of the care provided by Mr Jabbar.

How can Tees help

Our specialist medical negligence lawyers are supporting and actively assisting families affected by this situation.

If your child received treatment from Mr Jabbar, we can assess whether you have a valid claim for compensation and secure the compensation you deserve.

What is happening now?

Mr Jabbar no longer has a licence to practice medicine in the UK.

In September 2024, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) confirmed that it was continuing to share the results of individual patient reviews with families as they are completed. As a result, a growing number of families are now exploring their legal options and seeking redress for potential harm.

A further update in November 2025 confirmed that a group of independent orthopaedic surgeons has also carried out reviews at GOSH. The full report is expected to be published at the end of January 2026.

We could not fault the service provided by the entire team at Tees. They were responsive, supportive, and extremely professional from start to finish. The successful outcome and the justice achieved were exactly what we had hoped for.
