How can I help you?
I am a solicitor in the Medical Negligence team, having qualified and joined Tees in September 2021. Although my experience covers a broad range of medical negligence claims, my particular areas of interest include inquests, delayed diagnosis and surgical negligence claims.
Delivering what you really need
When you or a family member or close friend fall ill, it can be an extremely stressful time. You place your trust in medical professionals, and whilst often the care provided by them is exemplary, unfortunately, sometimes mistakes are made which can have catastrophic and far reaching consequences.
It takes tremendous courage to seek help or resolution for your experiences. I understand that the prospect of starting a legal claim can seem daunting. I will listen to your concerns with compassion and empathy, and endeavour to assist you in finding a resolution that best fits the needs of you and your family.
What else should you know?
I was able to gain over three years’ worth of experience before qualification, as a Paralegal and a Trainee Solicitor acting for both defendants and claimants in medical negligence claims. I therefore have an in-depth understanding of how both sides approach and manage a medical negligence claim.
I have been recognized as a Recommended Lawyer in The Legal 500 rankings for 2023 and 2024.
I volunteer my time as a helpline advisor for the patient safety charity Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA), providing legal advice and practical advice to members of the public. ‘[Georgina] was brilliant, very helpful’ (caller feedback, December 2023, Anon).
Although based in Bishop’s Stortford, I grew up in North Norfolk and currently live in Cambridge. I graduated from the University of East Anglia with a 2:1 law degree in 2012, and moved to Cambridge in 2016, thereafter obtaining a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course in 2019.
When I’m not working, I can probably be found playing netball with my team the Trumpington Tigers or going on adventures with my two miniature dachshunds, Gus and Hector.
