Tackle workplace discrimination at your business with expert legal advice

How Tees can help your business – discrimination law experts

Our employment law specialists are on hand to represent you at an employment tribunal if an employee brings a claim against you for discrimination. We understand how a discrimination claim can affect your business, so we’ll work with you to manage the situation quickly and advise on the best course of action.

Expert legal guidance to prevent discrimination with the right policies in place

We can advise you on putting policies in place to ensure you fulfil your legal obligations and help prevent claims from arising in the first place. We can also review your existing policies and suggest amendments to take account of any changes in the law, making them user friendly for you and your team.

What to look out for – discrimination and the law

Discrimination can take many forms. The Equality Act 2010 was designed to prevent employees from being treated less favourable because of “protected characteristics”. These include age, sex and race, as well as marital and family status.

The team is always keen to assist, providing articulate and accessible legal advice.

I have been told my property has development potential. What do I do?

If you’ve been contacted by a developer or a land promoter regarding a potential development to your property, you may wish to consider granting an option agreement or a promotion agreement. An option agreement is made between the landowner and the developer, where it is intended that the developer will apply for planning permission and requires an option to buy the property. A land promotion agreement is used where a developer agrees to apply for planning permission and will market the property for sale on the open market once planning permission has been obtained. This is usually in return for a proportion of the net sale proceeds. The law on this is very complex and you will need specialist advice.
