How can I help you?
I am an executive partner specialising in property related disputes. I often assist landlords and tenants in enforcing lease terms or, in particular for landlords, trying to recover possession of their property from a tenant in breach. I also advise in respect of boundaries and land ownership, including those wishing to make or defend a claim for land by adverse possession.
Other disputes that I deal with include: rights of way and other rights, breaches of covenants, trespass claims, claims relating to property damage, applications or defences relating to town and village greens.
I regularly advise in respect of complex professional negligence matters against solicitors, surveyors and architects and I am a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association.
Although I specialise and advise predominantly in respect of property related matters, I also represent clients who have general commercial disputes such as breach of contract.
Delivering what you really need
Because so much of my time is spent dealing with property related disputes, I have extensive experience in dealing with those matters which helps me establish the main issues and advise clients in a prompt and cost conscious way. This allows my clients to take an early view on their prospects of successfully bringing or defending a claim.
I understand that most clients have little concern with “interesting points of law”. If you are like most of my clients, you want me to assist you to achieve a particular objective and if there are risks you want to know about them as soon as possible and that is just what I seek to do.
What else should you know?
I graduated as a solicitor in 2006 before joining Tees in 2009.
I regularly act for large PLCs and private limited companies, partnerships, individuals, charities and trusts and public bodies.
My clients include national property developers and other large land-owning organisations, air transportation businesses, breweries, local authorities, hospital trusts, insurers and farming businesses.
