What do you like most about working at Tees?
The people, the culture, it doesn’t feel hierarchical, people genuinely enjoy working here.
What do you look for in new recruits?
Passion for their legal specialism is essential, but personality is just as important. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and supportive, so finding the right team fit is just as crucial as having the right experience.
What kinds of roles do you recruit for?
NQ Solicitors, up to Senior Associate Level. Senior roles in Marketing, IT and Facilities.
Are there any top tips you can give to candidates for interviews?
- Preparation is Key: Before your interview, take time to think about at least four examples from your career where you’ve experienced success and four instances where things didn’t go as planned. These examples will be invaluable for answering competency-based questions about real-life situations.
- Take Your Time: When answering questions, pausing and thinking is perfectly fine. Silence while you gather your thoughts is acceptable. If you need to, jot down the question to refer back to it as you structure your response.
- Confidence: If you’re not feeling confident, try projecting confidence, even if it's just for the duration of the interview. Sometimes, acting confident can actually help you feel more confident.

Will I be welcome at Tees?
At Tees, we start with group training days in our Bishops Stortford office, where you'll learn the basics alongside other new starters. Following this, you’ll be invited to a new starter induction day. During this event, you’ll have the opportunity to meet key members from our various departments, who will give you valuable insights into how each department is structured and operates.

Where would I be based if I worked at Tees?
You will be based at one of our offices (hybrid), either Bishop’s Stortford, Cambridge, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Royston or Saffron Walden
What kind of offices does Tees have?
We recently completed office refurbishments in both our Cambridge and Bishops Stortford locations, and the result is a lovely, modern décor that we're all enjoying. Plus, we’ve added some great perks—a coffee machine for your caffeine fix, and fridges stocked with cold beverages, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, juice, and fizzy drinks. We also provide snacks and breakfast options, just in case you didn’t have time to eat at home!
Tell us a bit more about yourself!
I work part-time, four days a week, which allows me to balance my career with raising my two young daughters, who are 7 and 10 years old. I'm also an animal lover and currently share my home with a little Cypriot rescue dog, a cat, and a hamster!
Outside of work, I enjoy painting and watching musicals at the theatre. I also occasionally house-sit in some very posh homes, taking care of pets while their owners are away. It’s a fantastic way to see more of the UK!
